Serving on the Board allows me to share my knowledge and experience, consider the members’ needs, and work to create policies that will further enhance and support our mission and vision for the next 100 years. I am looking forward to this challenge and opportunity!
I have over 30 years experience in Manufacturing Operations, Quality Management, Change Management and Regulatory Compliance. I have managed union workers, maintained labor relations, established work standards and policies, developed project timelines, managed and implemented changes and performed internal audits. I have built cross-functional teams using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools for continuous process improvement.
As District Director, I managed the District Success and Growth plan, handled budgeting, and allocated resources. As Project Lead and Site Administrator for a cloud-based Training, Incident and Nonconformance reporting platform, I created a customized site implementation plan, managed scope of work changes, and approved budget items. In my Quality Manager role, I facilitated the annual management review; which included analyzing KPM data and reviewing previous successes, identifying continuous improvement projects and establishing long-term company goals to create the 2025 strategic plan.
Corporate-driven Six Sigma projects require a strict timeline and budget, monthly financial reporting and adjustments as needed. During my time on the Board of Directors for the local Children’s Center, we reviewed multi-year plans and budgets, received new grants and develop new funding sources, resulting in increased revenue and contributions for the center.
I created operating procedures and integrated management policies, as well as onboarding and refresher training for internal stakeholders to manage and maintain ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 certification for my company. Policies are reviewed and updated periodically to meet local, state, federal and international requirements.
I believe that there is always something to learn regardless of the outcome. It is important to maintain integrity, separate facts from opinions, be open-minded and listen to all perspectives so that you can make an informed decision. One should strive to achieve the best possible outcome for all interested parties. Find opportunities to mentor or coach others. Say yes with focus and intention, even if sometimes that means stepping outside of your comfort zone.
My experience in implementing policies and initiatives have taught me how to provide exceptional quality, consistency, efficiency, and maximum end-user engagement across my global organization. I am a tenacious problem solver and critical thinker. I have developed these skills when collaborating with cross-functional teams in various business units. I will uphold the Toastmasters core values and fiduciary responsibility as a member of the Board.
I have more to give to this organization that has changed my life. Like many of us, I started out as a consumer of the program, trying anything and everything from meeting roles, serving as Club and District officer, and providing training. Now I have the chance to be a contributor on a global scale, to apply the skills acquired along the way and help establish and secure the future of Toastmasters in the next 100 years.
Over the years, I have served with other national non-profit service organizations, starting with the local chapter and moving up to state and national projects and activities. We raised funds for college scholarships, hosted children’s activities and community outreach and beautification efforts. I actively volunteer for my church public relations and hospitality teams, and teach speaking workshops. At work, I help organize Wellness activities and serve as site lead for the Inclusion and Diversity Employee Resource Group.
At the Children’s Center, I served on the Personnel and Public Relations Committees. These roles included quarterly budget review and multi-year planning, as well as resource allocation for multiple sites. We generated publicity and awareness through various community service events throughout the year. I also took part in reviewing roles and responsibilities and providing annual executive performance evaluations.
We are the premier provider of communication and leadership programming for the global community. The delivery system has changed over the years, but the goals are the same. We need to stay true to our brand, core values, and experiential club meeting structure. We will continue to offer customizable content, guidance, and recognition. Individuals are empowered to direct their own path. As a Board member, our job is to develop the strategic plan while continuing to listen to our members needs, seek the best opportunities for business partnerships and alternate revenue streams in order to provide long-term value and continuous growth.
I enjoy traveling internationally to visit family and specially my daughter who is attending university in Europe. I am an avid sports and sci-fi movie fan. I love hiking, nature walks, and trying local cuisine when traveling.
